Welcome to the website of the Malayalee Engineers Association in North America (MEANA). If you are a member of MEANA, a prospective member, or just someone interested in learning about our organization, then you came to the right place.

From its inception, MEANA has made substantial progress towards its goals. As we face tough road ahead due to today’s challenging economic conditions, we still are moving steadily forward with our 2009-2010 goals.

MEANA’s mission of bringing all Malayalee Engineers under one umbrella organization is making amazing progress. MEANA is highly supportive of starting various local chapters and helping them to flourish in North America. If you are interested in starting a local MEANA chapter please let us know, so that we can provide you the assistance that you might need.

As members of this great organization, let’s continue to work together as a team to promote cultural interaction and professional development. We will facilitate this through technical meetings, networking, information sharing, and social gathering.

We are living in a fast-changing world, where many challenges exist in the engineering sector with respect to providing technical solutions. It is an honor for me to be chosen as the president of MEANA for the period 2009-2010 and have the opportunity to participate in important decision-making within the MEANA working sphere. My goals over the next two years are anchored around the following:

Increase participation and membership in MEANA with new programs enabling active involvement by its members.

Assistance with finding a job, resume preparation and mentoring.

Encourage young people to choose engineering as an exciting career and reward them for their achievements.

Establish a strategic endowment fund to facilitate the implementation of MEANA’s projects such as Project 1000, Homeland Project initiatives, etc.

Enhance the effectiveness of our outreach program by leveraging communications, via the MEANA website, as well as partnership with other Malayalee Engineering Organizations.

Create more sustainable activities for the MEANA members and their families both socially and culturally.

Your help and active participation are needed to realize our mission. I invite you to join me in working towards our goal. If you are not already a member, please join MEANA.

In my term as MEANA’s President, I look forward to working with you, and to be of service to this great organization. I endeavor to represent us all in the best possible manner, to advance our cause, and to continue to improve upon all that has been accomplished and established to date. I invite you all, to contact me with your ideas and proposals. Together, we will ensure the continuity of MEANA through the challenges of the new millennium.
